| Nick Colley: Signed dual registration forms for Chasetown. |
NICK Colley insists he still has a major role to play at Worcester City.
The midfielder has signed dual registration forms with British Gas Business Division One Mid-lands side Chasetown after be-coming frustrated by his lack of first-team opportunities at St George's Lane.
He was on the bench for the Staffordshire club, managed by Charlie Blakemore, who coach-ed him as a youngster at Wolves, for last Saturday's 2-1 victory at Leighton Town.
But Colley, who has made just eight starts this season, played the entire 120 minutes for City in Monday's Worcestershire Senior Cup triumph against Kidderminster Harriers and wants to cement a place in the team on a regular basis.
"I haven't left Worcester," Colley said. "I went and had a look at Chasetown on Saturday with a view to going there straight away or next season. It's a local club for me. I had a look at them because I wasn't starting for Richard Dryden and I was frustrated with that.
"But Richard spoke to me and indicated he's very happy with me and he wants me to stay next season.
"We still need to sit down and talk about it but I needed to sort my options out.
"It's ended up that I have got dual registration and if I can help Charlie Blakemore out then I will, but only in mid-week when Worcester don't have games."
He added: "I am a Worcester player, I still want to play for Worcester and do a good job for Worcester.
"My heart's with Worcester City, I am very loyal to every club I have ever been at. I think the reaction of the supporters on Monday was evidence that they still want me to be there.
"I keep getting Worcester supporters asking why I don't play or am on the bench and when you get that you don't want to give it up.
"I know I can still do a job starting for the first team. I just need a run in the team which hopefully will happen soon."
Dryden was pleased with how Colley performed against Har-riers and says he could feature in tomorrow's match at Staly-bridge.
The City boss said: "He went to get a game. He's desperate to play week in, week out. We had a chat about things and he appreciates there are not many people in the squad guaranteed a first-team place.
"He's come back on Monday and played really well so he's in contention for a starting place."
