Dinsmore determined to boost City prospects

Matt Dinsmore: Should be fit to face Tamworth.

MATT Dinsmore is set to give Worcester City a boost by declaring himself fit for tomorrow's match against Tamworth.

The 18-year-old striker was forced to sit out the 3-0 defeat at Kettering last Saturday with a back problem.

Manager Richard Dryden had feared the teenager would not have recovered in time to put the Lambs to the slaughter at St George's Lane but is now hopeful he will be ready.

Dryden said: "I have spoken to him and he's pretty optimistic so that gave me a little lift as well. He should be available for Saturday.

"If he was struggling I would have probably brought someone else in to be involved in the squad on Saturday."

Dinsmore's inclusion would likely see him start alongside Craig Wilding in attack, with Troy Wood back on the left.

Defenders Ryan Clarke (groin) and Jon Munday (ankle) should also both be fit to play.

However, midfielder Emeka Nwadike serves a one-match ban following his fifth booking of the season against Vauxhall Motors last month.

Dryden said: "They are very physical in the middle of the park, which is why we will miss Emeka Nwadike. Gary Walker will get another go with either George Clegg or Jamie Price. Gary has deserved his place from the week before. We have Nick Colley as well so we have plenty of competition for places, which is quite a relief after the last few weeks.

"We were a little threadbare last week. What we have got now will probably be for the next two games."

Although the match will be the first meeting between the sides under Dryden, City and Tamworth have already locked horns twice this season, both at The Lamb.

Worcester, then managed by Andy Preece, recorded a 2-0 victory on September 8, thanks to goals from Adam Webster and Wilding.

However, Gary Mills' side gained revenge for that result when they dumped City out of the FA Cup at the first time of asking three weeks later 1-0.

Tamworth have lost three of their last four league games but returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Redditch United in mid-week.

Dryden added: "I watched them play on Tuesday and they have some very good players there. Realistically, with the squad they have got, they should be in the top half of the table."

The Lambs are in the midst of a goalkeeping crisis as first choice Jose Veiga (shoulder) is out for the season.

Dave Clarke has been drafted in from Gresley Rovers and boss Mills hopes he can play tomorrow.
